Ending with a BANG

Before our vacation to So. California my Grandmother came to visit in Salt Lake so we spent a couple of days with her. Here she is with all of her Great-Grandchildren on the Yeager line.

We headed down for a week vacation in So. California and spent our time mostly at the beach. Amelia loved to lay out, with lots of sunscreen of course.
Kids and Amy's kids at the tidal pools
My friend Amy and I, what a great visit we had, wish it was longer!
Scripps aquarium, great little aquarium for a much lower price and fewer crowds than larger places. The kids loved it.

Mormon Battalion Museum, FREE!, and great fun for the kids.   First day of school today. They were a little mad at me for dragging them out of the bus line and loosing their spot.

Busy Summer

Patrick and I (with the help of some friends) built a deck off the back. Now to keep the chickens off of it!
Austin and his reptiles, he has caught and released countless horny toads this summer.
Raised a batch of kittens, kept one, mom disappeared and so now we are back to being a one cat family.

Enjoyed out time visiting Great-Grandparents in Kansas. We were so busy having fun these are all the pictures I got. The kids also had fun bunny hunting and taking four wheeler rides.
Sivai won first place in the raingutter regatta for cub scouts.
Just finished celebrating Austins 7th b-day, and Amelias 2nd.
At the end of the school year there is always the hope that Summer will bring a slower pace. I don't know what happened, but I think life hit warp speed.

Fishing

We went fishing at Pelican Lake on Memorial Day and had a blast catching bluegill. I got bored and put on a spinner and hooked a bass.

Update in photos

Fishing with Grandpa, picture by Grandma
Mama cat and kittens, the kids (and I) are having fun with them.
After 5 years in our house, sod in the backyard finally.
Amelia with the flowers at Temple Square.
Derek and Nathan scoping out a tarantula at the National History Museum.
Austin holding a hissing cockroach at the Natural History Museum, kicking myself for not getting pictures with Grandma and Grandpa Yeager!
Lily and Amber at Temple Square.
 Sivai turning 9
 Completely Jazz obsessed.
Sivai, Ari, Austin, and Lily at Temple Square  (we were there 2x in one week)
Our good friend from Samoa, Vale Tagaloa, came to UT for her mission. We were lucky enough to spend half a day with her. Samoans out number palagi's in this picture, Ari was adopted at the same time as Sivai and I met her parents when we were all in Samoa.
Levi and Amelia, a couple of days before the poor guy ended up in the hospital.

I've been so busy working lately that I haven't blogged. Nothing major has been going on, just little things. Austin won then writing competition for Reflections at school, he is actually homeschooled now. Sivai reads and reads and reads. Lily is finally getting along and playing with Amelia. Amelia is starting to talk, but it's mostly jibber-jabber with a couple of words thrown in. We still talk about Samoa, nearly every day, and I often wonder what everyone is doing there. This is a picture of Sivai's birth sister, Sauilau. She was so shy when we met her, but we enjoyed her company and getting to know her. I can't believe it's been nearly a year since we were in Samoa, in some ways it seems like we were just there, in other ways it seems like a lifetime ago.
